Summary/Overview:
The Manchester Community Engagement Toolkit is primarily aimed at those working in community engagement within Manchester but will be of interest to readers in other areas as well. The Toolkit has been designed to be dipped in and out of as required, rather than being read from cover to cover.
The document is broken into different sections, including the core skills of community engagement (such as presentation and facilitation), key ways of engaging with interest groups, (such as young people and older people), different types of engagement (informing, researching, consulting, involving, devolving and empowering), with tools to achieve each type.
The tools are supported by case studies of good practice from across Manchester and the rest of the UK.
This is a very practical ‘how to’ guide, covering a range of activities, from the absolute basics to more complex activities, such as how to evaluate an engagement activity
