Summary/Overview:
This toolkit has been designed to be an accessible and practical resource to help those involved in user and public consultation in health and social care in Wales. It aims to both set out principles and give examples of how these principles might be put into practice.
The book is both a training manual and an evaluation tool.
- Part one of the book introduces consultation work and the current context for public involvement in Wales.
- Part two sets out eight core principles for effective and meaningful consultation and includes a framework for evaluating consultations. These principles are short and do not provide much context or detail.
- Part three of the toolkit contains examples of consultation practice in the form of case studies.
