Summary/Overview:

This Home Office document is a rewrite of a previous literature review into ‘what works’ in Community Involvement in Area Based Initiatives. The document highlights the key learning points from the literature review.

It covers useful tips on planning, publicising and evaluating participation processes as well as tips on working with young people, people with disabilities and minority ethnic and faith groups.

Despite being the intention of ‘providing practical guidance for policy makers and practitioners’ the document feels more like a theoretical research overview. The practical advice is in short bullet points which lack detail.
