Summary/Overview:

MySociety is a registered charity which aims to build “websites that give people simple, tangible benefits in the civic and community aspects of their lives” and to “teach the public and voluntary sectors, through demonstration, how to most efficiently use the internet to improve lives.”

MySociety builds and maintains non-partisan civic websites for example ‘theyworkforyou’ which provides current information on elected representatives and peers; and ‘pledgebank’ , which allows people to make an online pledge to do something altruistic or socially beneficial so long as others sign up to the same pledge.

The charity is reliant on volunteers and openly welcomes those interested in helping out with its many and varied projects.
