The International Centre of Excellence in Local eDemocracy (ICELE) is a government backed centre set up in 2006. It aims to “create a central trusted showcase for innovations in technology and the uses of technology that facilitate e-participation, e-democracy and e-inclusion.” technology developments within.

The site features many case studies, both from the UK and overseas and covering developments in the local government, private and open source sectors.

As ICELE is a relatively new organisation,their website is not yet fully developed, but the structure of the site look promising in terms of providing a comprehensive and targeted international resource and information centre on local eDemocracy.
