Summary/Overview:

Community Matters is a national federation of community organisations with over one thousand member organisations across the UK. The organisation aims to “support and develop the capacity of community organisations and represent their interests at a national level.”

Community Matters offers a number of services, including consultancy and training. The organisation also lobbies government and carries out research. Services which are available to anyone include information sheets, a bi-monthly magazine and an advice service, which includes a daily telephone advice line.

The advice service can be reached on 0845 8474253 or advice@communitymatters.org.uk. It is intended for short enquiries on issues such as employment, leases or managing community buildings. Community Matters state that they endeavour to answer all queries within 2 weeks of receiving them.

Members also have access to legal advice, information on government policies, legislation and regulations as well as discounted insurance policies.
