Summary/Overview:

Changemakers provide “a platform and process for young people to get actively involved in their communities.”

Changemakers supports schools in developing youth led approaches to the citizenship and social enterprise curriculum; and also run 'Y Bank', a scheme which gives pupils responsibility for grant-giving in order to implement community projects. The organisation runs a Young Advocates programme called 'Y Act', which enables young people to initiate, organise and manage a project to improve their community. They also support youth volunteering through the millennium volunteering programme.

In addition, Changemakers runs a funding initiative supported by the national lottery, called 'The Big Boost' as well as publishing guides and undertaking research into issues around youth participation. They create bespoke products and services to a range of organisations, enabling them to develop their thinking and practice around enterprise, citizenship and youth participation and leadership.
