PlanningAlerts.com is a free service hosted by mySociety.org.
Users can sign up to email updates based on their postcode, specifying if they are interested in planning applications within a 200, 800 or 2000 metre radius.
The site then searches as many local authority planning websites as it can find and emails details of applications within the specified area to the site user. This makes it possible for citizens to be aware of what is being built and knocked down in their community.
The site does not cover the whole country as not every local authority publishes their planning data online or in a format that PlanningAlerts can gather but this site still provides a very useful service to those who want to be kept up to date on what is going on in their local area.
