Summary/Overview:

10 Downing street have worked with the web-developer mySociety to develop the interactive ‘e-petitions’ site which aims to be independent and transparent. Anybody can log on and register their petition on the site, and supporters can then add their name to the list online. Those petitions which are deemed to break the rules on terms and conditions of use are not simply deleted, but are logged on the site as fully as legally possible, with an outline of the reasons behind their rejection.

This is a well-designed website that enables people to petition the government directly in an open and transparent way. The site has hosted some very popular petitions over the past months and has been featured in the news as well.
