Summary/Overview:
The ‘Community Enterprise Challenge Fund’ is a stream of funding available for rural and semi-rural development trusts who are members of the Development Trusts Association. It is run in collaboration between the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation and the Development Trusts Association.
The stated goal of the fund is to ‘accelerate growth of rural development trusts with a good track record and the potential to sustain a successful community enterprise.’
The programme will run over three years, starting 2007, and is expected to award around £90,000 per successful trust for up to three years.
As part of the funding the successful trusts will be given access to mentoring, action learning, peer support and business advice.
The deadline for initial applications is the 22 June 2007. Full applications will need to be submitted by 14 September 2007.
